A true Hollywood blockbuster starring Dax Shepard and Michael Pena, Warner Brothers decided to go all out to promote the Chips movie during SXSW. Warner Brothers ran 5 Chips Carts throughout downtown during the entire 10 days of the event. For the first three days of the festival, each cart was was equipped with a donut topper which helped to attract the attention of pedestrians in the streets. The carts provided rides to free donuts given out at “The Big D” in downtown Austin. A donut shop based on the actual donut shop from the film. A mix of an extensive online social media push and the massive out of home exposure from the carts and the donut shop made this a very successful campaign. See the campaign video recap below.
